What's new in Vizito 2.0.4

Vizito 2.0.4 introduces custom roles for your backoffice users and a visual badge designer with previews that match what comes out of the printer. It also gives you more control over fast sign-in, puts a working QR code on every badge, lets visitors register themselves without picking a date, and makes the emails Vizito sends more reliable. On top of that, it brings a round of fixes across the tablet app, the backoffice and the API, plus a number of security improvements.

New features

• Custom roles for your backoffice users. Manage users now has a Roles tab. The five built-in roles (Employee, Security guard, Receptionist, Local admin and Global admin) work exactly as before. On the Enterprise plan you can now also compose your own roles per location, with one privilege per menu item and per action: a role that only sees the emergency list, for example, or one that manages agreements but cannot change users or hosts. You can start from a built-in role and adjust it, and you can only grant privileges you hold yourself.
• Design your visitor badges visually. The Badge tab of a visit type now comes with a badge designer. Start from a ready-made template or a blank badge, then add text, visitor fields, your logo, the visitor photo, a QR code, lines and coloured bands, and put each element exactly where you want it. The tab itself is tidier too: it shows the badge with its size and label roll, and lets you reuse the badge of another visit type with “Use badge from…”. Your existing badges keep working, and you can still edit a badge as HTML if you prefer.
• See the badge exactly as it prints. The badge preview is now produced the same way as the printed badge, so what you see in the backoffice is what comes out of the printer. When a badge cannot be shown, for example because it has no elements yet, the preview tells you why. With “Test print via kiosk” you send a test badge from the backoffice straight to the printer at your reception.
• Templates for the label roll in your printer. When you choose a template, you first pick the label roll that is loaded in your printer, and the gallery shows the templates made for that roll. The 54 mm DK-N55224 roll is now supported, with a card-sized template (86 x 54 mm) that fits a badge holder. The tablet always prints the version of the badge that matches the roll in its printer.
• Fast sign-in that still checks the essentials. Fast sign-in lets a registered visitor scan their QR code and skip the sign-in page. A new option under Advanced settings, right below the fast sign-in setting, blocks that shortcut when mandatory data is missing, an agreement has changed or expired, or a mandatory signature is missing. The visitor then gets the sign-in form with their details already filled in and the missing fields marked, instead of being signed in straight away.
• A QR code on every badge. The visitor QR code on a badge used to stay empty for visitors who are not in your registered visitors list. It is now printed for every visitor. Scanning it on the tablet while the visit is open takes the visitor straight to the sign-out screen, and the same code appears in the email the visitor receives at sign-in.
• Self-registration without a visit date. Visitors who register through your self-registration link or QR code had to pick a planned visit date. You can now make that optional: edit the link under Account settings > General > Self-registration link and switch on “Visit date optional”. A visitor without a date can be selected on the tablet on any day. Existing links keep asking for the date until you change them.
• More reliable email delivery. The emails Vizito sends from its own address, such as notifications, invitations and verification codes, now go out through a dedicated European email delivery service, with an automatic fallback to the previous route if it is unavailable. Emails sent from your own sender address are not affected.

Bugfixes

Tablet app

• Fixed the sign-in form briefly flashing back on screen after tapping the sign-in button when an agreement or a signature was required. The tablet now goes straight to the welcome message.
• An agreement with an expiry date is now shown to the visitor again once their earlier acceptance has expired, and the new acceptance replaces the old one.

Backoffice

• The subscription page has a cleaner layout that stays readable on smaller screens. Invoices are now one list, with open invoices first, showing the amount still owed and the due date. A partially paid invoice no longer goes missing from the list.
• A support chat started from the backoffice now always carries your email address and account name, so our support team knows who is asking without having to ask you first.

Invitations, email and notifications

• Fixed your logo looking blurry in the emails visitors receive when they sign in and sign out.

Integrations

• Updating a registered visitor through the API now accepts the location as a single value as well as a list. This fixes an error when updating registered visitors from Microsoft Power Automate.

Security, reliability and behind the scenes

• When a user is removed from their last location, their account is now removed completely and they are signed out everywhere. This also applies to users synchronized from Microsoft Entra ID.
• After a security review of this release, we tightened the checks around user management and SAML single sign-on in the backoffice.
• We hardened the Vizito API with stricter input validation and stricter separation between accounts, and made a number of database queries faster.
