Alternatives to Sign In App

Looking for an alternative to Sign In App?

Sign In App is a good product, so the honest version of this page starts by saying that most people who search for an alternative are reacting to price, to the module structure, or to the Sign In Solutions consolidation. Those are all fair reasons. Here is what else exists, and where staying put is the better call.

Looking for an alternative to Sign In App?

Two mature products, two different pricing philosophies

Both are European, both are ISO 27001 certified, both do visitor management properly. The difference is how the offer is packaged.

Vizito

Vizito is a Belgian visitor management system sold as one product per location, from EUR 29.95 per month. Every visitor feature is in every plan - pre-registration, contactless sign-in, badge printing, text, PDF and video agreements, host approval, evacuation overview, satisfaction surveys - with identity features such as SAML single sign-on and Microsoft Entra ID sync on the Enterprise tier. Data is hosted in the EU only, and the sign-in flow runs in 31 languages.

Sign In App

Sign In App is a UK product from Sign In Solutions, which also owns Sign In Enterprise, The Receptionist and, since the recent merger, SwipedOn. It is priced per site per year - Core at GBP 415, Enhanced at GBP 835, Pro at GBP 1,255 - with unlimited sign-ins, employees, portal users and iPads on every plan, and separately priced modules for desk booking, time and attendance, scheduling and school records. It holds ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and Cyber Essentials and offers six data regions.

Should you actually replace Sign In App?

Half the people who land on a page like this are better off staying where they are. Here is how to tell.

Stay with Sign In App if...

  • Your reception is busy and unlimited sign-ins on every plan is worth real money to you.
  • You need a data region outside the EU, particularly the UK.
  • You use Spaces for desk booking, Time and Attendance, or employee sign-in.
  • You are a UK school and rely on the Single Central Record module.
  • You need SCIM provisioning or a companion mobile app for staff.

Start looking if...

  • Your visitor volume is modest and you are paying for unlimited sign-ins you do not use.
  • You want pre-visit registration and the full feature set on the entry plan rather than on Enhanced.
  • You keep adding paid modules and the annual total no longer looks like the price you compared.
  • You want a lower entry price per site for a multi-site rollout.
  • Your visitors speak languages beyond the 20-odd covered, or you need Belgian eID reading.

If you are only here because of a price increase, ask your account manager for the renewal number before you run a migration. It is a cheaper first step.

Why teams compare Sign In App with Vizito

One product, not a base plan plus modules

One product, not a base plan plus modules

Desk booking, time and attendance, scheduling and school records are separately priced add-ons at Sign In App, and pre-visit registration and ID scanning start at the Enhanced tier. Vizito puts the whole visitor feature set in every plan; the only things that move with the tier are visit volume, support level and identity integrations.

31 languages, all the way through

31 languages, all the way through

Vizito runs the visitor sign-in flow in 31 languages, and custom fields, list options and agreements can each carry their own translations. Sign In App supports a broad set of languages too; if your site receives drivers and contractors from across Europe, compare the actual lists rather than the marketing line.

EU hosting by default and a lower entry price

EU hosting by default and a lower entry price

All Vizito data sits in the EU under an ISO 27001 certified management system, with no region to choose or get wrong, at EUR 29.95 per site per month for the entry plan. For a European organisation that does not need a UK or US region, that is a simpler and cheaper starting point.

Where Sign In App is stronger

We lose rows on this page, and pretending otherwise would insult anyone who has actually used both.

Unlimited sign-ins on every plan

Sign In App does not meter visits. Vizito Standard includes 100 visits a month and Pro includes 300, with unlimited only on Enterprise. For a busy reception, that changes which plan you are really comparing, and you should do that arithmetic before looking at anything else.

Six data regions and a deeper certification stack

UK, EU, two US regions, Canada and Australia, with ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and Cyber Essentials behind them. Vizito is ISO 27001 and EU-only. If you are a UK organisation that wants UK residency, or a global one that needs local regions, they win outright.

Employees, desks and time as well as visitors

Staff sign-in, Time and Attendance, Spaces desk and room booking and a companion mobile app extend the same system past the front desk. Vizito does none of that, and a second tool for staff attendance is a real cost to weigh against our lower licence price.

SCIM provisioning and schools compliance

SCIM user provisioning on the Pro plan and a Single Central Record module for UK schools are both things we are asked for and do not have.

Where we are comfortable competing: entry price, the whole visitor feature set being in every plan, 31 languages, shared-building kiosks and how quickly small requests actually get built.

How Vizito gets better: you ask, we ship

When two products are this close on features, what usually decides the next three years is how the vendor behaves after the invoice. Vizito is built by a small European team that answers its own support chat, so a request about your reception reaches the person who owns that screen instead of a queue.

Your request reaches the people who build it

Support, product and development sit together. When you describe something that does not work at your front desk, it is logged against the actual feature rather than dropped into a suggestion box, and you get told whether it is a quick fix, a roadmap item or a no.

Small changes ship in weeks, not roadmap quarters

An extra field on a visit type, a wording change in an invitation mail, a badge layout that fits your label stock. Those small differences decide whether a system fits your reception or almost fits it, and they are exactly the changes we turn around quickly.

You can read exactly what changed

Every release is written up in plain language for the people who use Vizito daily: what changed on the tablet, what changed in the backoffice, and what it means for you. No ticket numbers, no marketing.

Top pick

1. Vizito, if you want visitor management and not a platform

Vizito is a Belgian visitor management system, ISO 27001 certified and EU-hosted, published at EUR 29.95 to EUR 99 per location per month with every visitor feature in every plan. Against Sign In App it competes on entry price, packaging, 31 languages and shared-building kiosks rather than on breadth. It is a genuinely close call, and if your visitor volume is high or you need a non-EU data region, they are the better answer.

Top pick

What Vizito gives you, and what it does not

You get

Pre-registration, contactless sign-in, badge printing, text, PDF and video agreements with signature, host approval, an emergency overview, retention and anonymisation, 31 languages and multi-site management - on every plan, from EUR 29.95 per location per month.

You do not get

Desk or room booking, parcel logging, watchlist screening, passport or driving licence scanning, employee attendance, access control integration, a SOC 2 Type II report, or hosting outside the EU.

You can try it

Fourteen days with every feature switched on, no credit card, 25 SMS notifications included so you can test host alerts end to end.

A comparison page that does not need to be unfair

Sign In App is a well-run product with a serious certification stack and a clear pricing page, and pretending otherwise would not survive a fifteen-day trial. Our earlier version of this page claimed it lacked ISO 27001 and multi-language support. Both claims were wrong and both have been removed.

What remains is a genuine difference of packaging. They meter nothing and charge more per site, with capability spread across tiers and paid modules. We meter visits and charge less per site, with the whole visitor feature set at every tier. Which is cheaper is arithmetic, not opinion, and it depends on your visitor volume and how many modules you would switch on.

Run both trials

Fourteen days at Vizito and fifteen at Sign In App overlap comfortably. Run them at the same site in the same week, with the same visit types and the same label stock, and ask each vendor for one small change during the trial. That last part is the most informative thing you can do, and it costs nothing.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the best alternative to Sign In App?

For a European organisation with moderate visitor volume that wants the whole feature set on the entry plan at a lower per-site price, Vizito is the closest alternative at EUR 29.95 to EUR 99 per location per month. For a US-centric workplace platform, Envoy. For enterprise screening, Eptura Visitor. For contractor compliance, MRI OnLocation. For a regulated plant, FacilityOS. Sign In App is strong enough that “the best alternative” depends more on why you are leaving than on any ranking.

  • Why do people look for Sign In App alternatives?

Three reasons come up most. The module structure, because pre-visit registration and ID scanning start at the Enhanced tier and desk booking, scheduling and time and attendance are separately priced. The per-site annual model, which is harder to justify for small satellite sites. And the Sign In Solutions consolidation, which now includes SwipedOn, Sign In Enterprise and The Receptionist, and leaves some buyers wanting an independent supplier.

  • Is Vizito cheaper than Sign In App?

At the entry level, yes: EUR 29.95 per site per month against GBP 415 per site per year for Core. But Sign In App does not meter sign-ins and Vizito Standard covers 100 visits a month, so a busy site should compare Vizito Pro at EUR 59 or Enterprise at EUR 99. Even at Enterprise, which includes SAML single sign-on, Vizito comes in below Sign In App Pro at GBP 1,255. Convert the currencies with your own numbers before deciding.

  • Does Sign In App have ISO 27001?

Yes, and SOC 2 Type II and Cyber Essentials as well, with six data regions to choose from. Any comparison page that claims otherwise is out of date, including an earlier version of ours. Vizito is ISO 27001 certified, hosts in the EU only and does not hold SOC 2.

  • What would I lose by moving to Vizito?

Unlimited sign-ins on lower plans, five of the six data regions, SOC 2 Type II and Cyber Essentials, employee sign-in and time and attendance, Spaces desk booking, SCIM provisioning, the staff companion app and the UK schools Single Central Record. What you gain is a lower entry price, the whole visitor feature set at every tier, 31 languages, Wallet passes, shared-building kiosks and Belgian eID reading.
